Above dedicating an entire review to her, but not at all above using her name to get some publicity, here are a few words about Miley Cyrus’ new album. None of this music is truly substantial in and of itself – although not exactly just like every other pop star out there, the degree to which she cops from Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey does not particularly engender her as any kind of artistic behemoth; however, it is significantly more mature and listenable than any of her previous efforts by leaps and bounds. It is clear that her reinvention is extremely calculated and focused where it was entirely possible for it to have been sloppily patched together in order to sell some records – whether or not she was the one reinventing herself is of little importance.
